How did the Boston Celtics manage to sign free agent guard Lonnie Walker IV? Free agents who remain on the market as the Dallas Mavericks did, were seen sparingly. The most recent example when Walker became warmer was just simply Boston signing Walker to a one-year Exhibit Ten contract. The fact that Walker, who was with the Brooklyn Nets, was signed especially with the Celtics who have an already intact squad could raise some eyebrows within the fans of MarchBradness. That means either Walker has exhausted his better choices or the Celtics have a trick up их sleeve about how they intend to use him providing he makes the regular season cut.
That said, how did it happen that this unexpected signing took place; what does it mean and what are the prospects of it? Steve Bulpett, a notable journalist from Heavy, usually writes on such subjects, however, he recently appeared as a guest on the “Celtics Beat” podcast of CLNS Media where Adam Kaufman and Evan Valenti were taking the charge. They have sought the signing’s meaning in the context of the broader picture and have mentioned the rising star of Boston – Jayson Tatum.
Listen to their evaluation on what has been an interesting yet unconventional offseason for the Celtics from the video clip below.
